Online Therapy for College Students in New York
Therapy that is tailored to you.
Depression, anxiety, relationships, fitting in, life transitions…AND on top of that you’re supposed to study for exams, figure out who you are, and make this the best four years of your life?! What the f**k?!
College students go through unique challenges.
You deserve therapy that is tailored to you.
You’re finally here! After years of anticipation, hearing stories from friends and family about their experiences in college, and so much hard work, you’re in it. You’re in what are supposed to be the best years of your life. But It doesn’t feel that way. Instead, you wake up with dread not sure how you are going to make it through another day of classes that you don’t really want to be in. You go through the motions of your day because you’re sleep deprived but you know its what you’re “supposed to be doing.” And you hang out with these people you are calling your friends, but you’re not sure if they totally get you. You’re away from home, a place that was so familiar and predictable, and for the first time you are by yourself, you are on your own. There is so much pressure for what these years are supposed to be like…But you don’t know how to make them that way.
You’re trying to balance it all. Class, extra-curriculars, staying in touch with your family and home friends, and building a life here. But there are only 24 hours in a day and you’re not sure how to do it all or where to even begin. Why does it seem like everyone else already knows how to do this? You look around and its as if everyone got the college 101 guidebook and somehow your copy was lost. And even though you’re in this new place, it seems like all of your same insecurities from high school keep bubbling back up.
Everyone talks about the “glory days” but no one talks about the stress and confusion they faced.
TLDR: You’re overwhelmed, stressed af, and want help but don’t know where to start.
I am here to help.
Through our work together, you will build life skills to help manage the practical parts of college, relational skills to build meaningful and fulfilling relationships, and coping skills to manage difficult emotions that come with this pivotal time in your life. We will look back on your life and see what patterns are unknowingly being recreated in college, grow awareness for them, and then take action in order to be intentional in the life you are creating here.
With morning, afternoon, and evening times and online appointments, I make therapy easy and convenient to fit into your already busy schedule. I want our time together to be a place where you can be fully you, without fear of judgement, or pressure to be anyone else. I do this by being relatable and by being myself, which often includes humor if appropriate and swearing if you’re comfortable. I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together
TLDR: I can help you build the skills you need to have the college experience you want
