Are you ready to process the past, so you can build the future you’ve been wanting?
Trauma has a profound impact on your emotions, body, and relationships.
Do you find yourself constantly on edge? Maybe it feels like you're unable to control your emotions and you find yourself quick to anger and irritability. Maybe you experience numbness from emotions and disconnect from yourself and your loved ones.
Maybe you notice that you're busy throughout the day and as soon as you lay down to sleep, everything you've been able to avoid all day comes rushing into your mind. And when you reflect on your days, you notice you feel scatter brained and find it difficult to stay with one task or enjoy one singular moment. Trauma makes it hard to stay present. This can have a large impact on your relationships and ability to trust and connect with even the closest people to you.
Do you notice negative beliefs popping up and the negative self talk kicking in? These may sound like "I'm not good enough," "I'm unworthy of love," or "There’s something wrong with me." Perhaps you feel responsible and on some level hold onto blame for what happened to you. Please know, it was not your fault, and I am here to help you embrace that with your mind and body.
You don't have to feel this way anymore
When traumas occur, trust is harmed. An important step in healing from traumas is learning to form safe and positive connections with people. Therapy is a great place to start this. Together, we will create a safe space for you to explore all parts of yourself in a judgement free zone and begin to teach your mind and body that safety and trust in relationships is possible.
Process the past, embrace the now, transform your future.
Experience trust in a safe space, and learn it is okay to trust again
Learn to tolerate the uncomfortable, so you can embrace the pleasant
Through Trauma Therapy, you will learn how to access and feel your emotions in a safe environment. Together, we will build your skills to be able to tolerate these emotions and no longer feel overwhelmed by them. We will practice these skills in session and grow your confidence to use them outside of session too. This then will allow for you to manage triggers and respond intentionally rather than reacting when conflict arises. Through building these coping and grounding skills while also practicing mindfulness, you will grow your ability to stay present. With presence your ability to connect with loved ones improves and you will be able to create and find moments of joy in each day. When racing thoughts return you will know how to guide and contain them rather than being at the mercy of them.
